MAINTENANCE

The missing phase: maintenance after a cut

When the desired direction changes from down to stable, the product should change its question too.

A finish line is a poor model

Many trackers are built around a target and a countdown. Reach the number and the narrative disappears, even though the next phase requires learning what stability looks like in ordinary life.

Stable does not mean motionless

Maintenance still includes daily variation. Treating every move above a single target as failure turns normal noise into an alarm. A range can represent the job more honestly, while a sustained drift can still deserve attention.

The language should change

During a losing phase, a supported downward direction may align with the chosen focus. During maintenance, the same directional movement may indicate the range is drifting. The measurement did not change meaning by itself; the context did.

Make the handoff visible

Choose when the active phase ends, define a personally appropriate maintenance context, and continue observing without demanding a perfectly flat chart. The Goal Timeline tool makes this handoff visible without pretending to predict your body.

A note on goals

Trendline does not determine whether a target, rate, or range is healthy. Qualified professionals can help with goals affected by symptoms, medications, pregnancy, eating-disorder history, or other medical considerations.

Keep going

Trendline treats maintenance as a first-class phase, not an empty space after the goal.
